I've been using Scion for years, and have tried to get FAmily Tree
running over an extended period, with no luck at all. I kept coming
back to the problem and trying various cures, all with no success.
In the end I found I really needed to be able to take my database with
me "in the field" and now use a laptop with Family Tree maker
installed, which apart from the database also gives the graphic
printouts I required.
Scion is still in use on my Amiga, as I output the database from the
laptop over my network as a GEDCOM file and import it into Scion
using an ARexx script.
I did have the FAmilyTree program working once, with a much smaller
database, when FamilyTree first came out, and it did work, though it
produced huge graphics files which needed to be printed. It could be
that a large database is just too much for the prog to handle, or
graphics memory is a problem.
